Privacy Policy
TextLevel ("we", "our", "the service") is operated by TAVK Media, based in the Netherlands. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
1. What we collect
We collect as little data as possible:
- Text you analyze — processed in real time to generate a CEFR level and readability score. We do not store the text you submit.
- Usage data — if you consent, Google Analytics collects anonymized data such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location (country/city level). Your IP address is anonymized.
- Cookies — we use a single cookie to remember your consent preference. No tracking cookies are set without your consent.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the text analysis service
- To understand how the service is used and improve it (analytics, with consent only)
- We do not sell, share, or trade your data with third parties
3. Google Analytics
If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to collect anonymized usage statistics. Google may process this data on servers outside the EU. You can opt out at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer, or by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
4. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority
Since we do not store text submissions or user accounts, there is generally no personal data for us to provide or delete beyond analytics data managed by Google.
5. Your rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.
6. Data retention
Consent preferences are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and are never sent to our servers. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months by default.

We may update this policy occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
